Definitely my favorite spot of the whole trip to NYC - this 918!! I'm a huge 918 fan and I've been lucky spotting one myself for a few times now.
I would have never imagined to spot one in Manhattan, though, especially not in Midtown.
I've spotted this 918 the last full day that I was in New York, a rainy thursday. I was having a final look at the Central Park and decided to head back to my hotel at Times Square. Despite of the rain, I wanted to walk back to soak in Manhattan for the last time; plus I don't mind walking. I walked down the 6th Avenue as traffic would be approaching me, making taking pictures easier than always turning around to check for cars.
When I was just one block from our hotel, I heard a (surprisingly for the 918) loud noise, lucky, and immediately spotted this lovely 918 headint uptown. Although having to spot across multiple lanes, the initial pictures turned out okay, but I decided to give it a last try and chased after the car; which turned out impossible because the 918 was hitting one green light after the other and soon, I wouldn't see the 918.
I was hoping that the 918 would turn onto Park Ave. at one point, so I decided to cross onto 5th Ave. I wanted to cross onto Madison Ave, but literally ran into the 918 the next corner: 5th Ave/ E54th St.
This was minutes after I had seen the 918 the last time, proving that making a right turn costs minutes in Manhattan. In other word - I managed to chase a vehicle for 7 blocks and still had a decent amount of time to take pictures on E 54th Street.
The City knew how to say goodbye - with this amazing spot :)!
