Not a diesel. The diesels don't have backboxes, they have a single central backbox with sound generators attached to it. This is a petrol engine of some kind. Probably a higher output hybrid variant with a small displacement engine, judging by the lack of exhaust valves on the inner tailpipes.
Too bad you didn't took a clear shot of the brakes, it could have told us more about what's inside.
