Lovely spot and photos @Jeroen do you have any recommendations for locations carspotting in Taipei? I have a long layover on saturday and am hoping to go to dtn Taipei in the xinyi district by the 101.. where do you recommend to check? The 812 comp and sf90xx, where were they?

The SF90 XX was at the Grand Hyatt, the 812 Competizione was at the Home Hotel. Most cars are to be found in Xinyi, Daan, Breeze Mall, Songren Road and Xinyi Road. How long is the layover?

Eight hours, I’m gonna go to Taipei 101 area and go around xinyi for a bit and hopefully check out Grand Hyatt and Home Hotel. Thanks for the advice!

No worries. Keep in mind that it's not a lot of time if you have to clear customs, get into the city, back to the airport, go through security.

👍 thanks, do you think it’s better to go while there’s still light out or after sunset? Like 5:30 vs 6:45 is what I’m considering because idk when’s a better time to get dinner and when to walk around.

Yeah I went to din tai fung as soon as I arrived 5:15ish (had a friend reserve a spot in the three hour line 😂) and afterwards we walked out around a little but it was sort of rainy (went to get boba and walked by homehotel lane 20 and shin Kong mitsukoshi but didn’t see anything besides a bentayga unfortunately, but it was far away so I didn’t get ag photos). Saw a bunch of M and AMG cars, but even songshou lane 20 just had a Panamera so left around 8 with no spots but a full stomach 🤣 and some good photos of the 101

Ah too bad. Well, at least you got into DTF. They had a crazy long line every time I went in there. Food court in the 101 was nice as well. Did you go up the 101? I went up just before sunset when it was still light and saw the transition to dark. Super cool experience tbh.

Yeah the food was really good (esp the xiaolongbao, highly recommend).. had a two and a half hour line so my friend got a ticket when our plane landed thankfully. Did a little bit of perusing inside the mall in the 101, not the food court tho bc alr had dinner, then went to a boba shop which was really good.. didn’t go to the top of 101 but would like to whenever I go back for an actual travel experience, we were originally gonna go to 象山 to watch the city view and sunset but was rainy/cloudy..
