Behold: spot 6000, my first Competizione! Last summer I made it to the main page with my 5000th spot, and this summer I managed to add at least a thousand more to my account. Still, I feel my way of hunting for cars is starting to change a bit. In Zürich and Stuttgart, I realized I wasn’t chasing cars with the same energy as before. The focus of my account, catching as many “fish” as possible, is shifting. A few weeks ago, on my honeymoon trip to the Faroe Islands, I spotted cars that most spotters wouldn’t consider “sick spots", but the location made those finds truly special to me. Discovering new and exciting places while also capturing some great cars also fits perfectly with my profession as a geography teacher. So, my next goal on the way to spot 7000: take it a bit easier, focus on my best photography of the nicer cars, and add more personal value by emphasizing the location, whether that’s at home, in places not known for special cars, or even in remote areas like the Faroes!
