I first found this 2001 BMW Z8 driving on I-684 in Armonk, New York on 10/22/2017 (photo 2). I found it again driving on Railroad Avenue in Greenwich, Connecticut on 7/7/2018 (photos 1 and 3-5). I then found it again driving down Greenwich Avenue on 10/20/2018 (photos 6-10). The owner used to have a Porsche 991 Targa 4S that I never got to spot on the road. The license plate combination is an old one back when Liberty plates were still being used. Once New York got rid of those, people had the choice to either get a new plate with the new letter/number combination or transfer their old one to the new (at the time) plate. It's rare to see this today. License plate: N57·7FJ (NY)

Fantastic car to see out on the road. Also nice of you to include the history about the license plates and everything! I find it interesting to read.

Insane spot! Definitely my vote for SOTD. I've only seen one of these in the past five years or so. I also like the blue and white NY plates more than the yellow and black ones.

@LucasH lol I didn't think anyone else cared, so thank you!
@NCspotter yeah the blue plates are so much better. They have the Adirondack Mountains, Niagra Falls and New York City all in one picture. The yellow and blue plates are boring and don't look good unless you have a black car.

@Rivitography I think it's always interesting to read what insights other spotters have about the cars they find. And I particularly like your take on license plates, car history of each owner etc, so please do keep writing about it!

Here in North Carolina we have a ton of specialty plates, but one of them (Friends of the Smokeys) is blue and green and white, and it looks awesome. Another one is yellow and green and white (Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation) and also looks awesome. I'm thinking about getting one for my GTI but I can't figure out which one I want or what I want it to say.
